Rus is based in the time between young adults and middle age when the party as a social compass is reevaluated and problematized. In Rus I examine the border between recreational use and addiction, euphoria and destructiveness, joy and indifference. I play with the voice in a mixture of read and sung text material where seriousness meets humor. Rus also includes the dream of the club and the door to another world.

Rus is inspired by mythological characters that are variously connected to drunkenness, such as Dionysus. I use props, such as a tin thyrsus rod, a drinking horn filled with wine and a scroll of parchment.
